The Shimenawa’s Reminiscence and Emblem of Severed Fate artifact sets were released with the 2.0 Inazuma update of Genshin Impact. The artifact set is obtained by defeating the Momiji-Dyed Court Domain. Here are some general tips on clearing the domain and the best characters to use these artifacts on!
Momiji-Dyed Court

The Momiji-Dyed Court is a domain in Inazuma, located on Yashiori Island. Entering this domain will give your party a blessing, depending on what tiles they are standing on. The main objective is to defeat the enemy within a set amount of time. At the last stage, Autumn Hunt IV, you will be facing off against Electro Slimes, an Electro Abyss Mage, and a Thunderhelm Lawachurl. Do not bring an Electro character into this domain as many of the enemies will resist Electro DMG.
The tiles that make up the domain stage, will switch between two stages: Flame Boon and Frost Boon. Characters that stand on the tile with an active boon will get a 60% increase to their Cryo or Pyro DMG Bonus, depending on what type of tile they stand on. It is recommended to have both Cryo and Pyro in your party to take advantage of the damage bonus. The reaction Melt will also have its power increases due to the domain’s buff. Some recommended characters include Hu Tao, Ayaka, Ganyu, Bennett, Xiangling, and Diona. You may also use Anemo characters or Geo characters as support.
Shimenawa’s Reminiscence

Shimenawa’s Reminiscence
2-Piece Bonus: ATK +18%
4-Piece Bonus: When casting an Elemental Skill, if the character has 15 or more Energy, they lose 15 Energy and Normal/Charged/Plunging Attack DMG is increased by 50% for 10s.
The Shimenawa’s Reminiscence gives the wearer an ATK% boost with its 2-piece bonus like the Gladiator’s Finale. Combined with that set, it is possible to boost your character’s ATK by 36%. However, you will lose out on the 4-piece bonus of each of the artifact sets if you do choose to go that route. You can also use the 2-piece bonus along with other artifact sets like the Heart of Depth to grant your character increased ATK% and elemental damage bonus% based on their element.
The 4-piece bonus of the Shimenawa’s Reminiscence is a bit more tricky to manage. This effect causes the character to lose 15 energy when they cast their elemental skill. In return, they are granted 50% more ATK DMG to their normal, charged, and plunging attack. The 4-piece Shimenawa’s Reminiscence works great for any DPS character that wants to increase their normal attack damage, allowing their attacks to hit harder. However, you will lose energy and the ability to frequently use your burst. The character must also have a short duration on their elemental skill to reliably maintain the effects of the 4-piece bonus. The energy lost can also be countered by having two characters of the same element on the same team to recharge energy faster. This set will not work well with characters with a long cooldown and energy cost on their burst, as activating the 4-piece will make using their burst a lot harder.
Keqing’s elemental skill has a cooldown of only 7.5 seconds. By using her elemental skill, she is also able to infuse her normal attack with Electro DMG, allowing her to deal elemental damage. The infused Electro DMG will increase with the effects of the 4-piece Shimenawa’s Reminiscence. Her burst also only has a cost of 40 energy, which can easily be built up again with the help of another Electro character like Fischl who can act as an energy generator with her own elemental skill.
Main DPS: 4-piece Shimenawa’s Reminiscence
Electro DPS: 4-piece Thundering Fury / 2-piece Thundering Fury + Shimenawa’s Reminiscence / 4-piece Thundersoother
Hu Tao paired with Bennett can make use of this artifact set because of Hu Tao’s elemental skill can also infuse her normal attack with Pyro. However, her best set is still the 4-piece Crimson Witch of Flames because of the strong reaction damage of Pyro. Her burst also does heal her back for a portion of her health, so you will need a healer or a shield generator on the team to balance out her low health buff.
Main DPS: 4-piece Shimenawa’s Reminiscence
Pyro DPS: 4-piece Crimson Witch of Flames
Ningguang can either be built as a burst dps or as a main dps with the use of her charged attack. As a charged attack dps, Ningguang can make use of the 4-piece. Her burst also only requires 40 energy to activate, so you can easily get it back with the help of another Geo character like Zhongli or Albedo on the team.
Main DPS: 4-piece Shimenawa’s Reminiscence
Geo DPS: 2-piece Archaic Petra & Shimenawa’s Reminiscence
If built as a physical attacker, Rosaria can also benefit from the 4-piece Shimenawa’s Reminiscence. Her burst only deals Cryo DMG, so she can safely be built as a physical DPS without much consequence to the cooldown of her burst.
Main DPS: 4-piece Shimenawa’s Reminiscence
Physical DPS: 2-piece Bloodstained Chivalry & Shimenawa’s Reminiscence
Yoimiya does not need her burst to be a Main DPS as her burst is more suited for a support role. Her elemental skill allows her to deal Pyro DMG with her normal attack, which can make use of the Shimenawa’s Reminiscence normal attack damage increase.
Main DPS: 4-piece Shimenawa’s Reminiscence
Emblem of Severed Fate

Emblem of Severed Fate
2-Piece Bonus: Energy Recharge +20%
4-Piece Bonus: Increases Elemental Burst DMG by 25% of Energy Recharge. A maximum of 75% bonus DMG can be obtained in this way.
The Emblem of Severed Fate artifact set provides the character with more energy recharge and increased elemental burst damage by a percentage of the character’s elemental burst. Both the set bonuses work well together to boost the uptime and damage of your character’s burst. Many burst supports can greatly benefit from this artifact set!
It is important to note that that damage increased will only be the initial skill damage. For example, Beidou’s slash from her burst will be the only one powered up by the effects, the lighting discourse will not be provided with the buff. You will need an Energy Recharge stat of 300% to max out the elemental burst damage burst. This is super high and optimizing for that will be difficult. An energy recharge of 200% will still suffice and still give you +50% burst damage.
Ayaka’s burst is capable of dealing massive amounts of Cryo DMG. It does come with a high energy requirement, so using the 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate will help counterbalance that. You will have to find ways to replace the Crit Rate if you are not using the 4-piece Blizzard Strayer, since you will be missing up to 55% of the Crit Rate bonus without it.
Burst Build: 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate
Mona’s burst allows her to deal both Hydro DMG and amplifies the damage taken by enemies under its effect. The 4-piece will only affect her explosion damage and not the damage bonus she gives off. Mona also gets an increased Hydro DMG bonus based on her Energy Recharge from her ascension 4 talent. This will equal 20% of her current energy recharge rate.
Burst Support: 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate
As a support, Kazuha’s will deal Anemo DMG and elemental damage. The 4-piece bonus will boost Kazuha’s uptime with his burst and the elemental burst damage. Every time Kazuha triggers the Swirl reaction, the team will be provided an elemental damage bonus for the element that he Swirls with. However, Kazuha will miss out on the 4-piece Viridescent Venerer which will decrease the enemies’ elemental resistance and provide extra Swirl DMG.
Burst Support: 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate / 4-piece
Xingqiu’s burst will deal Hydro DMG along with the active character’s normal attack. He makes a great burst support character and can fully make use of this artifact set’s energy recharge and increase his burst damage.
Burst Support: 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate
Yoimiya’s burst allows her teammate to trigger a Pyro explosion when they hit a marked enemy. With her ascension talent, she is also able to buff the ATK of nearby teammates whenever she casts her burst.
Burst Support: 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate
This set is perfect for the Raiden Shogun as her skill set scales off her Energy Recharge stat. With this set, Raiden Shogun can benefit from her high cost burst and scale up its damage.
Burst Support: 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate
