Kojou Sara is a 4-star Electro character from the region of Inazuma. She wields a bow in combat. The player first meets her in the 2.1 update where she leads the Shogun Army against members of the resistance. As the head of the army, Kujou Sara is a formidable general who conducts herself with honor and efficiency. She is very harsh on herself and follows a strict routine every day.
Fun Fact: Sara is referred to as the “tengu warrior.”
Sara is loyal to the Raiden Shogun and will act out her decree and will. She is the adopted daughter of the Kojou clan, which leads the Tenryou Commission. The Kojou clan is described to be fully dedicated to the Shogun and is extremely loyal to her. Sara leads the Shogun’s army to carry out the Vision Decree to take away the visions of the people of Inazuma.
Kojou Sara Skill Talents
Kojou Sara is best used as a support character or burst support as she can increase the power of the team with her elemental skill and burst.
Kojou Sara’s normal attack, Tengu Bowmanship, can perform up to 5 shots from her bow. The first shot will deal the least amount of damage while the 5th will hit the hardest. With her charged shot, Sara will shoot an arrow infused with Electro. While her Crowfeather state is active from her elemental skill, Sara will leave behind a Crowfeather where it lands. This will require Sara to fully charge up her arrow. Her normal attack is also slower compared to other bow characters like Fischl.
Her elemental skill, Tengu Stormcall, allows her to dash back and obtain the Crowfeather Cover state for 18 seconds. While in this state, when Sara fires out a fully charged arrow, it will leave behind a Crowfeather upon contact. After a short amount of time Tengu Juurai: Ambush will trigger and the Crowfeather will explode and provide an ATK to any active character within its AoE range. The ATK bonus is similar to Bennett where only Sara’s Base ATK is taken. This means only her base state and weapon choice will impact the bonus. The bonus also scales off the level of her elemental skill. It will also not stack with other Tengu Juurai buffs from her burst.
The buff only applies to the active character that is within the range of the explosion. If you switch to another character after the blast, they will not have the ATK buff. After firing off her charge attack, your active character must run over before the Crowfeather explodes to obtain the buff. This is prevented by her second constellation that leaves a Crowfeather at her original location after she dashes away. Sara’s elemental skill has a cooldown of 10 seconds and the ATK bonus will only last 6 seconds. There will be 4 seconds where Sara is unable to provide her ATK bonus. This skill will generate 3 energy particles when it hits 1 enemy.
Sara’s burst, Subjugation: Koukou Sendou, casts Tengu Juurai: Titanbreaker to deal an initial blast of Electro DMG. Then it will spread into Tengu Juurai: Stormcluster and unleash 4 bolts that will spread out and deal Electro DMG. Sara’s burst can provide an ATK to any active character within its range. The buff will be the same as the one provided in her elemental skill. This burst requires 80 energy and has a 20 second cool down.
In co-op, Kojou Sara can provide support to her team by using her elemental skill to shoot a fully charged attack. She can easily aim where her teammates are to give them the bonus.
Kojou Sara Passive Talents
Kojou’s passive talent reduces expedition time in Inazuma when she is sent out. Her ascension talents boost the utility and support of her elemental skill by reducing her charged shot time and providing her teammates with more energy.
Kojou Sara’s passive talent, Land Survey, is a basic expedition talent that reduces the time of expeditions in Inazuma when she is used. This talent allows Sara to return at a quicker rate than other characters, allowing you to collect your resources fasters. It does not have a use in battle.
Her first ascension talent, Immovable Will, decreases the charge time of her aimed shot when she is in the Crowfeather Cover state of her elemental skill. This will only activate during the duration of her Crowfeather Cover state, but will reduce the time needed to fire off her Crowfeather and provide nearby teammates with the ATK buff when the Crowfeather explodes.
At ascension 4, Sara gains the Decorum talent. This talent restores energy for all party members when the Tengu Juurai: Ambush from her elemental skill hits the enemy. The more Energy Recharge Sara has above 100%, the more energy she will provide the team. This talent supports the team by providing energy to charge up their burst.
Kojou Sara gets a boost to her ATK stat when she ascends.
When dispatched on an expedition in Inazuma, time consumed is reduced by 25%.
Unlocked at Ascension 1
While in the Crowfeather Cover state provided by Tengu Stormcall, Aimed Shot charge times are decreased by 60%.
Unlocked at Ascension 4
When Tengu Juurai: Ambush hits opponents, Kujou Sara will restore 1.2 Energy to all party members for every 100% Energy Recharge she has. This effect can be triggered once every 3s.
Kojou Sara Constellations
Sara’s constellation will mostly affect her elemental skill, with only her C4 impacting her burst. At C6, Kojou Sara becomes a great support character for Electro characters by increasing their Crit DMG by 60%! She is a hard character to play in single-player because characters that are not in the range of her explosion do not get the bonus. Luckily, her C2 saves you from having to shoot a charged shot.
At C1: Crow’s Eye, the cooldown of her elemental skill is reduced by 1 second when her elemental skill provides the ATK buff or hits an enemy. This effect can be triggered every 3 seconds and will improve the efficiency of her elemental skill buff.
C2: Dark Wings will create a weaker Crowfeather at Sara’s original location when she dashes back. It will deal only a portion of the original’s damage, but can be used to deal damage to enemies surrounding Sara and activate the bonus without using her aimed shot. C2 is crucial for Sara to be more usable in battle.
At C4: Conclusive Proof, Sara’s burst gains 2 additional Subjugation: Koukou Sendou, compared to the original 4 she will dish out at enemies. This involves the damage of her burst, allowing it to hit more enemies.
C6: Sin of Pride will only work in an Electro team as it affects Electro DMG. When her elemental skill increases a character’s attack, their Electro DMG gains 60% Crit DMG. This can massively boost the damage of Electro DPS like Keqing or Raiden Shogun.
|C1: Crow’s Eye||When Tengu Juurai grant characters ATK Bonuses or hits opponents, the CD of Tengu Stormcall is decreased by 1s.|
This effect can be triggered once every 3s.
|C2: Dark Wings||Unleashing Tengu Stormcall will leave a weaker Crowfeather at Kujou Sara’s original position that will deal 30% of its original DMG.|
|C3: The War Within||Increases the Level of Subjugation: Koukou Sendou by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.|
|C4: Conclusive Proof||The number of Tengu Juurai: Stormcluster released by Subjugation: Koukou Sendou is increased to 6.|
|C5: Spellsinger||Increase the Level of Tengu Stormcall by 3.|
Maximum upgrade level is 15.
|C6: Sin of Pride||The Electro DMG of characters who have had their ATK increased by Tengu Juurai has its Crit DMG increased by 60%.|
Kojou Sara can buff the active character if they are near the range of her elemental skill Crowfeather or elemental burst. She is easier to pay in co-op, as you can aim towards where your teammates are instead of switching to your main DPS and running over to the Crowfeather. This build is a full support build that will increase the power of Sara’s elemental burst and her party members when she uses it. You will want to focus on leveling her elemental skill first as her ATK bonus scales based that the talent level. Her normal attack is less important as she will only be on the field to shoot her Crowfeather and cast her burst.
Sara can work in a variety of teams similar to Bennett to buff the team’s attack. However, she can not heal and her elemental skill buff requires you to quickly switch characters and get close to the AoE range before it explodes. Her C2 will make it easier to obtain the buff as she will immediately drop a Crowfeather when she dashes back in her elemental skill. Childe will act as the Main DPS for this build, which Xingqiu will provide additional Hydro attacks and heal some health for the team. Raiden Shogun also works well with Sara as she can provide energy regeneration for the entire team.
Recommended weapons for Sara are any weapons with a high base attack since it will increase the power of her buff. ATK passives will not count toward that ATK bonus. Sara’s recommended 5-star weapon is the Skyward Harp, since it has the highest Base ATK for a bow within the game. It has a passive in Crit Rate and can deal additional physical damage when hitting the enemy. It will also increase Crit DMG by a small percent based on refinement level. Kojou Sara can make use of any 5-stat weapon since they will have a higher attack stat than other weapons. The Amos’ Bow has a passive stat in attack, but its skill focus more on boosting the damage of a character’s normal and aimed shot.
The 5-star Thundering Pulse is an overall powerful weapon. However, like the Amos’ Bow, focuses more on a character’s normal attack. It also doesn’t work well with Sara as each stack has a cool down, which Sara can’t work with as she will need to switch out to your Main DPS to obtain the ATK bonus. If you are using Sara as a DPS, then these weapons are fine for her.
For Sara’s 4-star weapons, you will also want to go with weapons with a high base ATK. The Alley Hunter increases Crit Rate and has a passive where Sara’s ATK and Crit DMG increase every 4 seconds, up to 5 times. This buff will not disappear if Sara leaves the field and will only disappear if she takes damage. This works with Sara as she can switch in and out to send out her Crowfeather and switch back out.
You can also use the Sacrificial Bow which increases Energy Recharge. This weapon can reset the cooldown of Sara’s elemental skill allowing you to use it twice. It also has one of the highest attack stat for a 4-star bow. The Blackcliff Warbow from the shop is another suitable weapon with a high base attack stat. It increases Crit DMG, but its passive requires Sara to defeat an enemy before it can trigger.
Kojou Sara’s artifact set should be the 4-piece Noblesse Oblige to increase the power of her burst and provide another ATK buff to her teammates when she uses her burst. If you are running another support with that set, you can also use a 2-piece Thunder Fury and Noblesse Oblige to increase burst power and Electro DMG. Another good artifact set for Sara is the 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate which is the recommended artifact for the second build below.
Artifact stats for Kojou Sara:
- Sands: Energy Recharge
- Goblet: Electro DMG%
- Circlet: Crit Rate% or Crit DMG%
For the sub-stats, look for increases in Crit DMG, Crit Rate, Energy Recharge, and ATK%. Energy Recharge is crucial if you don’t have another Electro character on the team or energy battery.
Sara can also use the Emblem of Severed Fate to boost the energy recharge and power of her burst. She can be used in many teams to boost their ATK, but at C2 Sara can increase the Crit DMG of Electro characters as well.
Bennett will be used to provide another ATK buff for the team while Sucrose can increase reaction damage. Fischl has a fast attack speed and can deal both Electro DMG and Physical DMG.
Kojou Sara can either use the Sacrificial Bow or Alley Hunter as the previous build. The Sacrificial Bow does also has a higher base attack and has a passive in an Energy Recharge.
For Kojou Sara’s 5-star weapon, the Elegy of the End is a support weapon with a passive in Energy Recharge. It will also increase her Elemental Mastery based on its refinement level. Kojou Sara will gain a Sigil of Remembrance when her elemental skill or burst hits an enemy. It can be triggered even if she is off the field and can occur every .2 seconds. When 4 Sigil are collected, they will be consumed and all nearby party members will gain increased Elemental Mastery and ATK. This weapon is great in a support build as Sara already has an ATK bonus she can give to her teammate.
For craft-able weapons, go for Prototype Crescent because it has a higher base attack than the other craft-able bows. This weapon will increase ATK, but does require her to hit a weak point with her aimed shot to activate its passive skill.
In the early game, use the Messenger because it boosts Crit DMG and has one of the highest base attack stat in a 3-star bow.
Kojou Sara’s recommended artifact set is the 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate if you are not running her as a full support. In the early game, you can use a 4-piece Gambler to increase the damage from her elemental skill and reset the cooldown of her skill when she defeats an enemy. You can also give her +40% Energy Recharge with a 2-piece Scholar and The Exile.
Sara’s artifact sets should be:
- Sands: Energy Recharge
- Goblet: Electro DMG%
- Circlet: Crit Rate% or a Crit DMG%
Look for increases in Energy Recharge, Crit rate, Crit DMG, and ATK in the sub-stats.
Recommended Party Members
Tartaglia will be the Main DPS and deal increased Hydro DMG with the help of Sara’s ATK Bonus.
Raiden Shogun can increase the Energy Recharge of the entire team and deal passive Electro DMG.
Xingqiu can deal Hydro damage and power up Childe’s Hydro DMG if he is at C2. He is also able to absorb a bit of damage and heal.
Bennett can also increase the ATK of anyone standing in his burst and heal.
Fischl can deal passive Electro DMG, but also has a fast normal attack for physical builds.
Sucrose is mainly there to increase the reaction damage of the team and offer crowd control.
|ATK Bonus for the team in both elemental skill and burst||ATK Bonus of skill requires you to be in distance of its explosion – Solved at C2|
|Energy Regeneration for the team in her ascension skill||Slow Normal Attack|
|Doesn’t need to be on the field often in a support role||ATK Bonus is only 6 seconds|
Kojou Sara’s main role is to provide an ATK Bonus for her team. However, getting that bonus is difficult without her C2. Normally when she drops a Crowfeather, you will need to switch to your Main DPS and get in the range of the feather before it explodes. This can be difficult to maintain as your active character will not get the bonus if they aren’t in range. Her bonus also scales off only on her Base ATK, so she requires a weapon with a high Base ATK to fully make use of that buff. She also offers a massive boost to Crit DMG for Electro characters when you unlock all her constellations. Sara is a character that you will need to heavily invest in, whether it is her constellation or weapons, to make use of her in combat.
