Alhaitham is a 5-star Sword character from the region of Sumeru. He meets the Traveler on his quest for divine knowledge.
As the Akademiya’s Scribe, it is Alhaitham’s mission to record the findings of the scholars and documents their discoveries, while writing the ordinances to be set in place. He likes rationality above all things and is only interested in pursuing what interests him. Alhaitham also prefers to keep a low profile and is often seen as mysterious and capable by those who work alongside him. Alhsithrm currently lives with his roommate Kaveh who is constantly bickering between the two. He tends to pursue knowledge of what interests him and can be often seen reading.
Alhaitham Skill Talents
Alhaitham is a Dendro DPS character that focuses on using his elemental skill to gain Chisel-Light Mirror stacks and grant himself Dendro infusion for increased DMG. Both his skill and burst scale of Elemental Mastery.

Alhaitham’s normal attack, Abductive Reasoning, performs up to 5 attacks with his sword. The 3rd and 5th hits will hit 2x. His charged attack will consume stamina to unleash 2 strikes on the enemy. After using his elemental skill, his normal attack is infused with Dendro allowing him to deal Dendro DMG to enemies.

His elemental skill, Universality: An Elaboration on Form, has press and hold effect. The press effect allows Alhaitham to rush forward and deal Dendro DMG to the enemy. It will generate 1 Chisel-Light Mirror. For his hold effect, he can aim where he rushes and deal damage to the enemy. 1 Chisel-Light Mirror is created when he first unleashes the skill. When he has mirror stacks, Alhaitham’s normal, charged, and plunging attack will be converted into Dendro DMG. He can have up to 3 mirror stacks, which can be generated with his ascension talent. When Alhaitham deals damage with his infused normal attack, he will also launch a projectile attack. This attack scales off on the number of mirror stacks he has. Alhaitham’s elemental skill is a great source of Dendro DMG, allowing him to perform the role of Main DPS with Dendro infusion. Each mirror will disappear after 4 seconds or if he leaves the field, It also does come with a long cooldown that lasts 18 seconds.

Alhaitham’s burst, Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena, creates a field that does Dendro DMG to enemies within it. If a Chisel-Light Mirror exists, his burst will consume all stacks and increase the number of times the damage is dealt. 2 seconds after his burst, Alhaitham will generate more mirror stacks depending on the amount consumed. His burst has a high energy cost of 70 and an 18-second cooldown. The damage scales of his Elemental Mastery.
In co-op, Alhaitham will be in charge of dealing DMG and applying Dendro to enemies for reaction.
Alhaitham Passive Talents

Alhaitham’s ascension talent allows him to gain more stacks of his mirror and increases the damage of his skill and burst by a portion of his EM stat. His passive has a chance to increase the amount of weapon ascension material he crafts.
His passive talent, Law of Reductive Overdetermination, has a slight chance to double the amount of weapon ascension a material he crafts them. He shares a similar talent with Ayata and Albedo.
Alhaitham’s ascension 1 talent, Four-Causal Correction, creates 1 Chisel-Light Mirror when his charged or plunging attack hits an enemy. This can occur every 12 seconds. This talent allows him to gain more mirrors for his elemental skill effect.
His ascension 4 talent, Mysteries Laid Bare, increases Alhaitham’s DMG for his elemental skill effect and elemental burst based on a portion of his Elemental Mastery stat. You will need 1000 EM to max out the benefit from this talent. This talent is great for increasing Alhaitham’s damage, and can also work to increase his reaction damage as his increased elemental mastery will allow him to deal more damage with Dendro reactions.
Alhaitham gets a bonus in Dendro DMG based on his ascension rank.
Law of Reductive Overdetermination Unlocked Automatically When Alhaitham crafts Weapon Ascension Materials, he has a 10% chance to receive double the product. |
Four-Causal Correction Unlocked at Ascension 1 When Alhaitham’s Charged or Plunging Attacks hit opponents, they will generate 1 Chisel-Light Mirror. This effect can be triggered once every 12s. |
Mysteries Laid Bare Unlocked at Ascension 4 Each point of Alhaitham’s Elemental Mastery will increase the DMG dealt by Projection Attacks and Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena by 0.1%. The DMG of both aforementioned abilities can be increased by a maximum of 100% this way. |
Alhaitham’s Constellations

Alhaitham’s cancellation provides him various effects that increase his overall damage and elemental mastery.
C1: Intuition decreases Alhaitham’s elemental skill cooldown when his Projection Attack hits an enemy. This constellation helps reduce the long 18-second cooldown, allowing him to use his elemental skill quicker. Stacking the projection attacks by obtaining Chisel-Light Mirrors can also help easily trigger this constellation every 1 second.
C2: Debate increases Alhaitham’s elemental mastery when he generates a mirror. This can stack up to 4 times for a total of 200 EM. This Alhaitham can dramatically increase his EM and works well when paired with his ascension 4 talent to improve his skill and burst damage as the damage buff increases from Alhaitham’s EM stat.
At C4: Elucidation, Alhaitham’s burst gains various effects depending on the number of Chisel-Light Mirrors consumed for the activation of his burst. This will increase his Dendro DMG and Elemental Mastery for each mirror that is consumed, greatly boosting his overall damage.
C6: Structuration provides Alhaitham with multiple effects. One effect generates 3 mirrors after 2 seconds have passed when he uses his burst. This will be an easy way to obtain max stacks again as his burst consumes them all when it is cast. The other effect increases his Crit Rate and Crit DMG if he creates another mirror when he is already at maximum stacks. This constellation works great to increase his stack usability and buff his Crit DMG and chance.
Constellation Levels | Effects |
---|---|
C1: Intuition | When a Projection Attack hits an opponent, Universality: An Elaboration on Form’s CD is decreased by 1.2s. This effect can be triggered once every 1s. |
C2: Debate | When Alhaitham generates a Chisel-Light Mirror, his Elemental Mastery will be increased by 50 for 8 seconds, max 4 stacks. Each stack’s duration is counted independently. This effect can be triggered even when the maximum number of Chisel-Light Mirrors has been reached. |
C3: Negation | Increases the level of Universality: An Elaboration on Form by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
C4: Elucidation | When Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena is unleashed, the following effects will become active based on the number of Chisel-Light Mirrors consumed and created this time around: Each Mirror consumed will increase the Elemental Mastery of all other nearby party members by 30 for 15s. Each Mirror generated will grant Alhaitham a 10% Dendro DMG Bonus for 15s. The pre-existing duration of the aforementioned effects will be cleared if you use Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena again while they are in effect. |
C5: Sagacity | Increase the Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
C6: Structuration | Alhaitham gains the following effects: 2 seconds after Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena is unleashed, he will generate 3 Chisel-Light Mirrors regardless of the number of mirrors consumed. If Alhaitham generates Chisel-Light Mirrors when their numbers have already maxed out, his CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG will increase by 10% and 70% respectively for 6s. If this effect is triggered again during its initial duration, the duration remaining will be increased by 6s. |
Recommended Builds
Main DPS Build

This build for Alhaitham empowers his Dendro DMG with the Deepwood Memories artifact set and the Spread Reaction. If another character on the team already has the Deepwood set you can equip Alhaitham with another set. Alhaitham’s talent consistently needs to be all leveled up as he depends on them all for his damage output. After using his elemental skill, his normal attack will do Dendro DMG while also gaining stacks of Chisel-Light Mirror to perform his projectile attacks. His burst will also rely on the mirror sets to increase the amount of time it hits the enemy.
For his teammate, you will want characters that can deal passive damage. Shinobu will heal the team while applying Electro to nearby enemies. Yae Miko can be replaced with Fischl to deal passive Electro DMG. Nahida will heal increase the reaction damage of the team.
Alhaitham’s recommended 5-star weapons are Light of Foliar Incision, Primordial Jade Cutter, or the Mistsplitter Reforged. The Light of Foliar Incision is his best in slot with a passive in Crit DMG and increases his normal attack based on his elemental mastery stat. The Mistsplitter Reforged also has a passive in Crit DMG and grants an elemental attack bonus based on the number of Mistsplitter’s Emblem stacks. Lastly, the Primordial Jade Cutter increases Crit Rate and Max HP.
For 4-star weapons, opt for the craftable Iron Sting with a passive in EM, which grants an elemental damage bonus when Alhaitham deals elemental damage. Other options are The Black Sword, Sapwood Blade, or the Harbinger of Dawn. The 3-star Harbinger of Dawn is also good in the early game due to the increased Crit DMG.
If you do not have another character using the Deepwood Memories set, then it is the best artifact set for Alhaitham. This increases his Dendro DMG and decreases the Dendro resistance of enemies after they are hit by his elemental skill or burst. The second best option is the Gilded Dreams for the extra EM and ATK bonuses based on the number of elements on the team the same and different from Alhaitham.
- Goblet: Dendro DMG Bonus
- Sands: EM
- Circlet: Crit Rate or Crit DMG
Artifact sets for Alhaitham:
Aside from Crit DMG and Crit Rate, EM will also be important for his ascension skill that scales his burst and skill damage off his Elemental Mastery stat.
