Background

Eula comes from a long line of aristocrats that once ruled over Mondstadt with an iron fist. Her family name is now hated amongst the citizens of Mondstadt due to their past cruelty toward the people. Many wonder why a descendant of the old aristocracy would dare even consider joining the Knights of Favonius.
Fun Fact: Eula likes to seek vengeance of people, but she doesn’t mean it in a negative way.
Eula’s official title is the Captain of the Knights of Favonius Reconnaissance Company, but she is also called the Spindrift Knight due to her flexible and fluid motions in battle while carrying a claymore. Those who see past her family name, depict her as kind and reliable, especially on the battlefield. Eula specializes in scouting down her enemies and crafting clever strategies using her intuition. She has incorporated her family’s Dance of Sacrifice into her own style of Favonius Bladework.
Eula is one of the few nobles that view the aristocrat’s past action as unforgivable. When she first joined the knights, Eula was looked down upon by both her family and the citizens of Mondstadt. Despite that, she persevered through the harsh comments and has vowed to protect Mondstadt, even from her own family.
Fun Fact: Eula loves to drink cold alcoholic drinks. A feat that is rare in Mondstadt.
Eula is a 5-star Cryo character from the region of Mondstadt. She wields a claymore in battle and was first introduced in her own story quest where you ruin the plans of her scheming uncle.
Eula Skill Talents
Eula is a physical attacker that relies on a mix of all her skills to deal damage to the enemies. She does have access to Cryo attacks, but her Physical DMG scales far greater than her Cryo attacks. Eula has two main gimmicks. One is the use of her Grimheart, which will increase her defense and resistance to interruption. The second gimmick is Eula’s powerful burst that will deal more Physical DMG depending on the number of energy stacks she has obtained.

Eula’s normal attack, Favonius Bladework – Edel, will perform up to 5 consecutive strikes with her claymore. The 3rd and 5th attacks will deal two separate weaker damage to the enemy, while Eula’s 4th strike will deal the most damage. Her charged attack will consume stamina and unleash a fury of slashes with a more powerful slash at the end over a duration of 5 seconds. Eula has a faster attack speed compared to other claymore users. Her normal attack and burst create a deadly combo since the more hits she deals to the enemy while her burst is active, the more energy stacks she will gain for her Lightfall Sword.

Eula’s elemental skill, Icetide Vortex, has a press and hold effect. Her press effect will allow Eula to deal a Cryo slash in front of her. When her press effect hits an enemy, she will gain 1 stack of Grimheart. Eula can stack this buff up to 2 times and it can only be gained every .03 seconds. The press effect of Eula’s elemental skill has a cooldown of 4 seconds, allowing her to easily stack up her Grimhearts or apply Cryo to enemies.
When Eula is in the procession of a Grimheart from her press effect, she will gain increased DEF and resistance to interruptions. Each Grimheart has a duration of 18 seconds, allowing Eula to have increased DEF for a good chunk of time until she consumes them with her hold effect. Eula’s cape will also glow when she is at 2 stacks of Grimhearts.

Eula’s hold effect on her elemental skill will consume all of her Grimheart and deal AoE Cryo damage to enemies in front of her. When the Grimhearts are consumed by this skill, surrounding enemies will have their Physical and Cryo resistance lowered. Each number of Grimhearts consumed will also be converted into an Icewhirl Blade and deal Cryo DMG to nearby enemies. Eula’s hold effect has a cooldown of 10 seconds, so it isn’t as readily available as her press effect, but will deal more damage overall.

Eula’s elemental burst, Glacial Illumination, allows her to swing her claymore to deal Cryo DMG to nearby enemies and create a Lightfall Sword that will follow her around for 7 seconds. Each time Eula uses a normal attack, elemental skill, or burst to deal damage to an enemy, she will gain an energy stack for her Lightfall Sword. The initial Cryo DMG will give her 1 energy stack, even if the sword has not appeared yet. This can be triggered every .1 seconds and she can have a maximum of 30 stacks. Once the 7-second duration ends, Eula’s Lightfall Sword will explode and deal physical damage to nearby enemies. This damage is scaled based on the number of energy stacks Eula collected. The Lightfall Sword will also automatically explode when Eula leaves the field.
Note: The double hit from her third and fifth hit will only create 1 energy stack.
Eula’s burst is a great source of physical damage, which is further amplified by her energy stacks. The Cryo DMG she deals will be far less than the amount of Physical DMG Eula can deal with her Lightfall Sword. Her burst does take 20 seconds to reload and 80 energy to activate, making its uptime hard to manage without a good energy recharge stat or another Cryo character on the team. She doesn’t have good energy regeneration in her elemental skill, making it harder to recharge her burst often. It is also very difficult to gain the max stacks of energy as you will only have 7 seconds to get 30 hits on the enemies. The more enemies around, the easier it is to go max stacks on her burst. However, during a boss fight or when there aren’t many enemies around, it will be hard for Eula to gain 30 energy stacks in time.
Note: Make sure you use your elemental skill press effect first before you cast Eula’s burst. Her ascension 4 talent will reset the cooldown of her skill when you use her burst and grant her 1 Grimheart.
In co-op, Eula is best played as the main damage dealer due to her powerful physical attacks. She also has a quick cooldown on the press effect of her elemental skill, allowing her easily to apply Cryo to enemies. Her burst does take a while to recharge, but the damage will be worth it in the end.
Eula Passive Talents

Eula’s passive talent, Aristocratic Introspection, allows you to have a 10% chance to obtain double the Character Talent Material when she is used to crafted them. She is currently the only character with this talent. Overall, this talent is beneficial to you when it does activate as it can grant you extra materials to level up your talents. However, it only has a 10% chance to trigger, so it shouldn’t be heavily relied on.
Eula’s Ascension 1 talent, Roiling Rime, will create a Lightfall sword that will explode and deal Physical DMG to nearby enemies. This Lightfall Sword will only trigger when 2 stacks of Grimhearts are consumed during the hold effect of Eula’s elemental skill. Its damage will be based on 50% of the Lightfall Sword’s damage from Eula’s burst. Overall, this ascension talent allows Eula to deal physical damage with her elemental skill, but requires her to first gain 2 stacks of Grimhearts.
Eula’s Ascension 4 talent, Wellspring of War-Lust, resets Eula’s elemental skill when her elemental burst is used. She will also gain 1 stack of Grimheart. It can be used to apply Cryo to enemies, gain a Grimheart, or trigger an energy stack for her Lightfall Sword.
Eula gains a Crit DMG% based on her ascension rank.
Aristocratic Introspection Unlocked Automatically When Eula crafts Character Talent Materials, she has a 10% chance to receive double the product. |
Roiling Rime Unlocked at Ascension 1 If 2 stacks of Grimheart are consumed upon unleashing the Holding Mode of Icetide Vortex, a Shattered Lightfall Sword will be created that will explode immediately, dealing 50% of the basic Physical DMG dealt by a Lightfall Sword created by Glacial Illumination. |
Wellspring of War-Lust Unlocked at Ascension 4 When Glacial Illumination is cast, the CD of Icetide Vortex is reset and Eula gains 1 stack of Grimheart. |
Eula Constellations

Eula’s base skill set already allows her to deal powerful hits of physical damage. Having her constellation levels aren’t necessary, but will give her physical damage an even bigger boost.
Eula’s first constellation, Tidal Illusion, increases Eula’s Physical DMG by 30% when her Grimheart stacks are consumed when she uses the hold effect of her elemental skill. This buff power-ups Eula’s already powerful physical attack, making her deal even more damage with both her burst and normal attack talent. It also works with 1 stack of Grimheart, but the duration of the buff will be shorter. Each stack she consumes will increase the duration of the buff for 6 seconds, for a maximum of 18 seconds. This constellation is incredible for Eula, easily giving her an increased 30% to her Physical DMG every time she consumes her Grimheart.
Eula second constellation, Lady of Seafoam, decreases the hold effect cooldown of her elemental skill to 4 seconds like her press effect. This constellation allows Eula to consume her Grimhearts and easily activate her first constellation. The reduced cooldown will also be helpful in dealing increased Cryo DMG to enemies with her hold effect. If running the Pale Flame on Eula, this constellation also allows her to activate the 4-piece bonus with her hold effect as well.
At C4: The Obstinacy of One’s Inferiors, Eula’s Lightfall Sword will deal increased toward enemies with less than 50% of their HP. Although it will deal more damage to enemies, this constellation does not activate until enemies are at half health, making it more situational. However, the increased power does make a good finishing move.
When at C6: Noble Obligation, Eula’s Lightfall Sword from her burst will start with 5 energy stacks. Her normal attack, elemental skill, and burst, will also have a 50% to grant an extra stack of energy when she uses them when the Lightfall Sword is on the field. This constellation helps Eula easily achieve the maximum 30 stacks to fully power-up the damage from her Lightfall Sword.
Constellation Levels | Effects |
---|---|
C1: Tidal Illusion | Every time Icetide Vortex’s Grimheart stacks are consumed, Eula’s Physical DMG is increased by 30% for 6s. Each stack consumed will increase the duration of this effect by 6s up to a maximum of 18s. |
C2: Lady of Seafoam | Decreases the CD of Icetide Vortex’s Holding Mode, rendering it identical to Tapping CD. |
C3: Lawrence Pedigree | Increases the Level of Glacial Illumination by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
C4: The Obstinacy of One’s Inferiors | Lightfall Swords deal 25% increased DMG against opponents with less than 50% HP. |
C5: Chivalric Quality | Increases the Level of Icetide Vortex by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
C6: Noble Obligation | Lightfall Swords created by Glacial Illumination start with 5 stacks of energy. Normal Attacks, Elemental Skills, and Elemental Bursts have a 50% chance to grant the Lightning Sword an additional stack of energy. |
Recommended Builds
Main DPS

This build for Eula focuses on the physical damage from her normal attack talent and burst. Her elemental skill can only deal Cryo DMG, unless you have her ascension 1 talent activated. However, the Lightfall Sword generated from that ascension talent pulls its damage from her burst’s sword. The priority of her skill level up will depend on your use for them. The only use that her elemental skill will bring for this build is to gather up Grimhearts and decrease enemy resistance with her hold effect. Eula’s main damage will come from her elemental burst’s Lightfall Sword that will gain power from the more time you use her talents when it is active. Her normal attack is the best way to gain the energy stacks for her Lightfall Sword and will be her main damage output when her burst is not active.
Eula’s teammate should consist of characters that can apply Cryo and Electro to trigger SuperConduct. This reaction will lower enemy resistance to physical attacks, allowing Eula to deal even more damage. Fischl’s elemental skill can deal passive Electro DMG, even if she is not on the field. Diona will be used to create a shield for Eula and heal the team. She and Eula will also activate the Cryo team boost, increasing the Crit Rate against enemies affected by Cryo or Frozen. Eula also has low energy regeneration, so having a second Cryo character will help her charge her burst. Lastly, Xingqiu has a variety of Hydro attacks that can trigger Freeze or Electro-charge with this team. When frozen, Eula can shatter them with her claymore to deal increased physical damage. Xingqiu can also be used to heal the team with his Rain Swords. He can be replaced with Bennett if you want to power-up Eula’s attack instead.
For Eula’s main weapon, any of the 5-star claymores are great for her if you have the right setup. For example, if you can manage a shield on Eula at all times, then 5-tar The Unforged is a great weapon for Eula. This weapon will further increase her attack in both its passive stat and skill. Likewise, the Wolf’s Gravestone works great for any claymore character as it will also increase Eula’s ATK.
The 5-star Song of Broken Pines is an excellent choice because of its Physical DMG Bonus that will multiply Eula’s normal attack and burst damage. It also has a high attack stat that can go all the way to 741 if leveled up all the way. The passive effect will increase Eula’s ATK and allow her to gain a Sigil of Whispers when she hits an enemy with a normal or charged attack. This can be triggered every .3 seconds. Once 4 sigils are collected, all nearby party members will gain increased movement speed and attack. This effect greatly boosts Eula’s ATK and allows her to give her teammates a buff in co-op as well. However, Eula will not gain any more Sigil of Whispers for 20 seconds after the buff is triggered.
For 4-star weapons, the Snow-Tombed Starsilver is a 4-star craft-able weapon that will boost Eula’s physical damage. In addition, an icicle will also have a chance to drop on the enemy when Eula hits them with a normal or charged attack. Enemies affected by Cryo will be dealt additional ATK DMG. This weapon pairs well with Eula as she can apply Cryo to enemies and can benefit from the physical damage bonus. You can also use the Prototype Archaic as its passive skill and effect work on all claymore DPS characters.
If you have access to the battle-pass, the 4-star Serpent Spine is another great option for Eula to use. This weapon will increase Eula’s Crit Rate, allowing her to dish out more critical hits. Every 4 seconds Eula is on the field, she will deal more damage, but also take more damage in the process. You will want to avoid taking damage as the buff will disappear if Eula takes damage. It is recommended to pair Eula with a shield character like Diona or Zhongi if you do choose to use this weapon.
In the early game, equip Eula with the 3-star Skyrider Greatsword because it will increase her physical damage bonus and boost her attack every time she hits an enemy with her normal or charged attack for 6 seconds. The 3-star Debate Club can also work as this weapon increases ATK in its passive stat and provides a buff to her normal and charged attack after using her elemental skill.
For her artifact set, Eula should be equipped with a 4-piece Pale Flame for this Main DPS build. This artifact set increases her physical damage and will allow her to increase her ATK when she hits an enemy with her elemental skill. This artifact set is tricky to use as you will need to activate 2 stacks of the buff to trigger the additional 25% to the 2-piece bonus in 7 seconds of the first buff triggering or the stack will disappear. This isn’t a problem for Eula as her press effect only has a cooldown of 4 seconds. However, you will be unable to use her hold effect as that has a cooldown of 10 seconds unless you have Eula at constellation 2.

A good alternative to the 4-piece Pale Flame is a 2-piece Bloodstained Chivalry and Pale flame, which will be explained in the second build.
For the early game, go for a 2-piece Brave Heart and Resolution of Sojourner to give Eula a 36% increase to her attack. The full set of each one will also work on Eula.
Stats on Eula’s artifacts:
- Sands: ATK%
- Goblet: Physical DMG Bonus%
- Circlet: Crit Rate or Crit DMG
On her sub-stats, focus on Crit Rate, Crit DMG, and ATK%. Energy Recharge will also be great to charge her burst more often.
Burst Build

This build for Eula focuses on the physical damage from her elemental burst and maximizing her uptime. To gain the full benefit from her burst you will want to gain as many energy stacks as possible during the duration of her Lightfall Sword. This build is similar to the first build, but uses the Skyward Pride and another Cryo character to boost Eula’s Energy Recharge. If you do not have access to the Skyward Pride, then it is recommended you have Energy Recharge on your artifacts.
When her burst is activated, you will have 7 seconds to gain as many energy stacks to scale the damage of her Lightfall Sword. You will start off with 1 when you cast her burst and deal damage to an enemy. Eula can gain energy stacks by dealing damage with her normal attack, elemental skill, and burst.
For Eula’s teammates, you will want to have another Cryo character like Diona to activate the Cryo team resonance for the team. Diona can also heal the team and protect her teammates with her shield. Bennett will be used to heal the team and boost Eula’s ATK with his burst. Lastly, you should have an Electro character like Fischl who can apply Electro on the enemy and trigger the Superconduct reaction to reduce the enemy’s physical defense.
Since Eula has low energy regeneration, the 5-star Skyward Pride is the perfect weapon to balance it out. This weapon will increase her Energy Recharge and increase all her damage. It can also create a vacuum blade that will deal physical damage to the enemy after Eula uses her normal or charged attack. Any 5-star claymore will work for Eula, but you will have to have Energy Recharge on her artifact stats.
The 4-star Favonius Greatsword also has an Energy Recharge passive stat, but it won’t boost Eula’s damage. It is best equipped with Kaeya who will help recharge energy for the entire team.
Another great option for Eula is the 4-star Serpent Spine that will increase her damage output while increasing the damage she will take every 4 seconds. This buff can stack up to 5 times and will only disappear when Eula takes damage. This weapon is great for Eula as it also increases her Crit Rate. You will want a shield generator on the team to avoid taking damage and losing the buff.
For craftable weapons, both the Prototype Archaic and Snow-Tombed Starsilver will work great for Eula and are great F2P weapons for her. The 4-star Blackcliff Slasher can also work as it increases Eula’s Crit DMG. However, its’ passive skill will not work on boss fights, as it requires defeating an enemy to gain the ATK buff.
If you are not a fan of the 4-piece Pale Flame, then you should use a 2-piece Pale Flame and Bloodstained Chivalry. This set will boost Eula’s Physical DMG by 50%. It is the same as the 4-piece Pale Flame’s 2 piece boost, but this set is unconditional and will always be active, unlike the 4-piece Pale Flame. You will lose out on the extra ATK that the 4-piece Pale Flame provides.
Stats on her Eula’s artifacts:
- Sands: ATK% or Energy Recharge
- Goblet: Physical DMG Bonus%
- Circlet: Crit Rate or Crit DMG
On her sub-stats, focus on Crit Rate, Crit DMG, Energy Recharge, and ATK%
Recommended Party Members
Fischl will be used to trigger Superconduct to decrease the enemies’ physical resistance. She can also deal passive Electro DMG even if she isn’t on the field.
Diona will be used to trigger the Cryo team resonance with Eula. She can also heal the teal and protect them with her shield
Xingqiu’s Hydro attacks can freeze the enemy with Eula’s Cryo attacks, allowing them to be shattered and deal increased physical damage. He can also heal the team with his Rain Swords.
Kaeya equipped with a Favonius Greatsword is able to generate energy for the entire party when he lands a critical hit. This weapon combined with the Cryo boost will allow Eula to charge up her burst a lot faster.
Bennett will be used to heal Eula while boosting the power of her attacks with his elemental burst.
Advantages | Disadvantages |
---|---|
Powerful scaling on her burst | Low Energy Recharge |
Low cooldown on elemental skill press effect | Hard to obtain max stacks for her Lightfall Sword |
Crit DMG as an ascension bonus | Grimheart only increases her DEF and resistance to interruption. |
Recommended Domains: Cecilia Garden, Midsummer Courtyard, Valley Of Remembrance, Stormterror, Taishan Mountain, Hidden Palace Of Zhou Formula, Stormterror
Conclusion

Eula is a physical attacker with access to one of the strongest bursts in the game. Her Lightfall Sword is able to gather energy stacks from her attacks, scaling up its damage when it explodes. Eula’s elemental skill also comes with a quick cooldown and the ability to gain a Grimheart. After consuming her Grimhearts, Eula can decrease the enemies’ physical defenses, allowing her to deal even more damage. Eula does suffer from low energy regeneration, which can be a pain without another Cryo character on the team or Energy Recharge on her weapon or artifacts. Overall, Eula is capable of dealing high amounts of physical damage if you are able to fully utilize her Lightfall Sword.
