Background

Arataki Itto is a 5-star Geo claymore user from the region of Inazuma. Known for his loud and brash behavior, Itto takes pride in his oni heritage. Itto can be competitive and will not back down from any competition, even challenging kids to beetle fights. Despite his appearance, Itto is known to be kind and good around children, but he’s not very smart. The Traveler is first introduced to him after he was accused of committing crimes in the city and was tasked with bringing him in.
Fun fact: Itto is only half-oni, but he still has the bean allergy that all onis have.
He is the leader of the Arataki Gang and is well respected by its member. However, their antics around Inazuma are frowned upon by the Tenryou Commission. It took several members of the commission and Kojou Sara herself to take away Itto’s vision during the vision hunt decree.
Arataki Itto Skill Talents
Arataki Itto is a GEO DPS, that relies on gaining stacks of Superlative Superstrength and unleashing them to deal damage with his charged attack. Itto’s burst converts his normal attack into GEO DMG and grants him increased ATK based on his DEF.

Itto’s normal attack, Fight Club Legend, will perform up to 4 hits with his claymore. The second attack will deal the least amount of damage while the fourth strike will hit the hardest. When the second or fourth attack hits the enemy, Itto will gain 1 or 2 stacks of Superlative Superstrength, depending on the attack combo. He can have up to 5 stacks at a time, and the duration of his current stacks are refreshed when a new one is obtained. Itto will also not lose his attack combo when he sprints or uses his elemental skill, but will lose it if he jumps. Each stack of Superlative Superstrength has a duration of 60 seconds, giving you plenty of time to gather them!

Itto’s charged attack does not require stamina to be used. While holding down to perform his charged attack, Itto will use up his stacks of Superlative Superstrength and hit the enemy with Arataki Kesagiri slashes. The number of slashes depends on how many stacks Itto has currently. The last slash will also unleash a powerful final hit. If Itto has no stacks, he will perform a single Saichimonji Slash that will require stamina. Itto’s charged attack combined with his burst will be his main damage output. His charged attack also doesn’t consume stamina if you have a stack of Superlative Superstrength, allowing you to use it without worry.

His elemental skill, Masatsu Zetsugi: Akaushi Burst!, will allow Itto to summon Ushi for 6 seconds. Ushi will deal Geo DMG when he is first summoned and provide Itto with 1 stack of Superlative Superstrength. While on the field, Ushi can also taunt nearby enemies to attack him and provide Itto with 1 stack of Superlative Superstrength when he takes damage. He can gain 1 stack this way every 2 seconds. Ushi’s health scales based on a portion of Itto’s Max HP and he will flee when his HP reaches 0. When Ushi leaves, Itto will gain another stack of Superlative Superstrength. By holding down the skill button, you can adjust where Ushi is thrown. Itto’s elemental skill has a cooldown of 10 seconds.
Itto’s elemental skill can taunt enemy attacks and is another way for Itto to gain stacks of his Superlative Superstrength. Only 1 can exist at a time, but since it is considered a Geo construct it will work well with Zhongli’s own Geo construct.

Itto’s elemental burst, Royal Descent: Behold, Itto the Evil! has a cooldown of 18 seconds with an energy cost of 70. Once cast, Itto will enter the Raging Oni King state for 10 seconds. While in this state, Itto’s normal attack will be converted into Geo DMG, which cannot be overridden by other skills. Itto will also gain increased attack speed and an ATK buff based on his DEF. Lastly, Itto will gain 1 stack of Superlative Superstrength when he uses his 1st and 3rd attack on his combo, allowing him to gain stacks with each of his attacks. Itto will suffer from a 20% decrease in his elemental and physical defenses while in this state, but that should not be a problem if you built him based on DEF. The state will disappear when Itto leaves the field. Overall, Itto’s burst boosts his overall damage output, converting his attacks in GEO DMG and scaling up his ATK based on his DEF. Itto’s burst only grants him a buff, like Xiao, and does not deal damage on its own.
In co-op, Itto is best used as a Geo damage dealer and will want to gain as many stacks as possible to unleash his charged attack. His elemental skill can also taunt enemy attacks.
Arataki Itto Passive Talents

Arataki Itto’s ascension talents grant various buffs to his charged attack. His passive talent helps your party member collect more wood.
Itto’s passive talent, Woodchuck Chucked, gives members in the party a 25% chance of obtaining double the amount of wood when chopping trees. This talent is great for gathering up wood to craft items in the teapot, but has no use in battle.
His 1st ascension talent, Arataki Ichiban, provides Itto with increased resistance to interruption and an attack speed buff to the Arataki Kesagiri slash of his charged attack. The talent will help Itto attack faster, depending on the number of slashes he performs, and can also lower the chance of him being interrupted by enemy attacks. There is a limit to the amount of attack speed he can gain. The effects are also stopped after he finishes with his combo of slashes.
Itto’s fourth ascension talent, Bloodline of the Crimson Oni, increases the Arataki Kesagiri slash’s damage based on a portion of Itto’s DEF stat. This talent will boost his charged attack damage, especially when he is at full stacks!
Itto has a Crit Rate bonus based on his ascension rank.
Woodchuck Chucked Unlocked Automatically When a party member uses attacks to obtain wood from a tree, they have a 25% chance to obtain an additional log of wood. |
Arataki Ichiban Unlocked at Ascension 1 When Arataki Itto uses consecutive Arataki Kesagiri, he obtains the following effects: Each slash increases the ATK SPD of the next slash by 10%. Max ATK SPD increase is 30%. Increases his resistance to interruption. These effects will be cleared once he stops performing consecutive slashes. |
Bloodline of the Crimson Oni Unlocked at Ascension 4 Arataki Kesagiri DMG is increased by 35% of Arataki Itto’s DEF. |
Arataki Itto Constellations

Itto’s constellation grants him more damage for his charged attack, while also providing him with some support capabilities for his teammates.
At C1: Stay a While and Listen Up, Itto gains 2 stacks of Superlative Superstrength after using his elemental burst. In addition, Itto will gain up to 3 stacks after 1 second, with one being obtained every .5 seconds. This constellation will help Itto gather more stacks to increase the number of slashes he can perform with his charged attack.
C2: Gather ‘Round, It’s a Brawl! decreases Itto’s burst cooldown and restores energy to Itto when he uses his elemental burst. The cooldown decrease and energy depend on the number of Geo party members in the team. To maximize the effects of this constellation, you will want 3 Geo characters on the team, including Itto himself.
C4: Jailhouse Bread and Butter grants nearby party members a DEF and ATK after the duration of Itto’s burst ends. This is a great support talent, boosting the damage and reducing the damage taken by his teammates for 10 seconds.
At C6: Arataki Itto, Present!, Itto’s charged attack gets a massive critical damage bonus and will also have a 50% chance to not consume any of his stacks when unleashing his charged attack. His constellation will increase Itto’s damage output and allow him to save on his stacks.
Constellation Levels | Effects |
---|---|
C1: Stay a While and Listen Up | After using Royal Descent: Behold, Itto the Evil!, Arataki Itto gains 2 stacks of Superlative Superstrength. After 1s, Itto will gain 1 stack of Superlative Superstrength every 0.5s for 1.5s. |
C2: Gather ‘Round, It’s a Brawl! | After using Royal Descent: Behold, Itto the Evil!, each party member whose Element is Geo will decrease that skill’s CD by 1.5s and restore 6 Energy to Arataki Itto. CD can be decreased by up to 4.5s in this manner. Max 18 Energy can be restored in this manner. |
C3: Horns Lowered, Coming Through | Increases the level of Masatsu Zetsugi: Akaushi Burst! by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
C4: Jailhouse Bread and Butter | When the Raging Oni King state caused by Royal Descent: Behold, Itto the Evil! ends, all nearby party members gain 20% DEF and 20% ATK for 10s. |
C5: 10 Years of Hanamizaka Fame | Increases the level of Royal Descent: Behold, Itto the Evil! by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
C6: Arataki Itto, Present! | Arataki Itto’s Charged Attacks deal +70% Crit DMG. Additionally, when he uses Arataki Kesagiri, he has a 50% chance to not consume stacks of Superlative Superstrength. |
Recommended Builds
Geo DPS

Itto is best used as a DPS due to his powerful charged attack and ability to convert a portion of his DEF to ATK with his elemental burst. When gaining stacks of his Superlative Superstrength, Itto can deal increased charged attack damage without consuming any stamina. Your main priority should be to gain stacks, which is pretty easy as all his talents have ways to obtain them. Level up both his normal attack and burst as that will be your main deal dealer. Itto’s elemental skill is optional as its main use is to taunt the enemy, but can also deal Geo damage when it is first summoned.
For Itto’s teammates, he will want to rely on Geo support characters like Gorou and Albedo. Gorou will boost his DEF and can also heal with his burst when his fourth constellation is unlocked. Albedo has a powerful elemental skill that can deal Geo DMG, which scales from his DEF, allowing him to also benefit from the DEF buff from Gorou. It is important to note that Gorou’s buff will only last 2 seconds after the active character lefts the field, so Albedo won’t always have the buff without switching in again. Having 2 Geo characters will also trigger the Geo team resonance, increasing shield strength, damage dealt while shielded, and decreasing the enemy’s Geo resistance when they are hit with an attack while the active character is protected by a shield. Bennett will be used to increase Itto’s ATK and provide healing. Itto can also benefit from Kojou Sara’s attack buff.
Arataki Itto’s signature weapon is the 5-star claymore Redhorn Stonethresher, which currently has the highest Crit DMG passive stat in a claymore. Its passive stat increases Itto’s DEF and his normal & charged attack will also get a damage buff based on a percentage of his DEF. This weapon works great with Itto’s kit, boosting his damage and DEF. Any of the 5-star weapons like The Unforged or Wolf’s Gravestone will also be great for Itto. The 5-star Song of Broken Pines will only be useful for a Physical Dps Itto, but its passive will be able to boost Itto’s normal attack speed and ATK.
For 4-star weapons, both the craftable Whiteblind and Serpent Spine are great picks for Itto. The Whiteblind can be easily obtained and has a passive in DEF. When hitting an enemy, its passive will raise Itto’s DEF and Base ATK for 6 seconds. This effect can stack up to 4 times. The Serpent Spine, on the other hand, can only be obtained through the battle pass. This weapon raises Crit Rate and increases Itto’s damage every 4 seconds, up to 5 times. However, Itto will be dealt increased damage and will lose the stacks when he is damaged. It is recommended to pair Itto with a shield generator like Zhongli to avoid the negative effects of his weapon or you can obtain a shield through crystalize. The Prototype Aminus is another suitable weapon for any DPS claymore user, raising their ATK and dealing additional ATK DMG to the enemies when their normal or charged attack lands a hit on them.
In the early game, the 3-star White Iron Greatsword grants Itto a passive boost in DEF and will also heal him when he defeats an enemy. The Debate Club can also be used in a similar way to the Prototype Aminus.
Arataki Itto’s recommended artifact set is the 4-piece Husk of Opulent Dreams to raise his DEF and grant him the ability to gain Curiosity stacks. These stacks can be obtained by dealing Geo DMG to the enemy or by simply being off the field. Itto can only gain 4 stacks of Curiosity, raising his DEF and Geo DMG with each stack. He must gain another stack of Curiosity within 6 seconds or he will lose a stack. Itto will also benefit from the 2-piece Archaic Petra to gain a Geo DMG Bonus and a 2-piece Husk of Opulent Dreams for increased DEF. A 2-piece Archaic Petra and Gladiator’s Finale can also work if you don’t have access to the Slumbering Court Domain yet.
In the early game, use the 4-piece Resolution of Sojourner to raise Itto’s attack and charged attack damage. A 2-piece Defender’s Will and Resolution of Sojourner/Brave Heart can be used to boost his DEF and ATK. A 4-piece Defender’s Will will also work to increase his DEF, but it depends on the number of elements on the team to gain the full benefits of the increased elemental resistance.
Artataki’s artifact set should be:
Sands: DEF%
Goblet: Geo DMG Bonus%
Circlet: Crit DMG
For his sub-stats look for DEF%, DEF, Crit Rate, Crit DMG, ATK%, and Energy Recharge. Itto does have a bonus in Crit Rate based on his ascension, so Crit Rate isn’t the highest priority.
Shield DPS

This build for Itto uses the 4-piece Retacing Bolide and Zhongli to grant Itto increased damage while protected by a shield. Like the first build, focus on leveling up both Itto’s normal attack and burst.
For Itto’s teammate, the only change from the first build is Zhongli, who can generate shields. Noelle will also work as a shield creator, or you can obtain a shield through the Crystalize reaction.
The Unforged combined with the Retracing Bolide is a great combination as they both increase shield strength and provide an ATK buff when Itto is protected by a shield. The Serpent Spine works great in a shield build for Itto, as he can avoid taking damage and losing the increased damage buff. The 4-star Blackcliff Slasher from the shop can be used to increase Itto’s Crit DMG. However, its passive requires him to defeat an enemy first before getting the attack buff. Itto can also make use of the same weapons as the first build.
Artataki’s artifact set should be:
Sands: DEF%
Goblet: Geo DMG Bonus%
Circlet: Crit DMG
Like the first build, look for DEF%, Crit DMG, ATK%, Crit Rate, and Energy Recharge in the sub-stats
Recommended Party Members
Bennett can buff the team’s attack and heal with his burst.
Albedo’s elemental skill can deal massive Geo damage to the enemy every 2 seconds. It also scales off his DEF stat.
Gorou can increase Itto’s DEF with both his elemental skill and burst. His buffs will gain additional effects based on the number of Geo characters in the party.
Raiden Shogun’s burst is powered up by collecting energy when other character casts their own bursts. Itto has a high energy burst, allowing the Shogun to gain more stacks to power up her burst.
Zhongli’s shield can protect Itto from damage. His geo construct can also resonance with Itto’s elemental kill.
Advantages | Disadvantages |
---|---|
A portion of DEF converts into ATK with his burst. | Burst does no damage on its own |
Itto’s charged attack requires no stamina if there is a stack of Superlative Superstrength | High burst cost |
High burst and charged attack damage | No support skill until C4 |
Conclusion

Arataki Itto is a powerful Geo DPS with the ability to covert his DEF into ATK and deal massive damage with his charged attack. His playstyle revolves around obtaining stacks of Superlative Superstrength and unleashing his powered-up charged attack by consuming the stacks. As an oni, Itto is often feared by humans, but he is a kind guy at heart. His competitive nature and antics as the leader of the Arataki Gang have gotten him in trouble multiple times with the Tenryou Commission, but that has never stopped him.
